tftp from within telnet session garbles flash #61

Trying to update via tftp from within a telnet session fails.
tftp servre is reachable, file gets downloaded (with proper size, according to console).
Last message I see via telnet is
"Committing update in 2 seconds"
Rebooting after 1min (2min, 5min) doesn't work, seems flash is garbled.
