What's the false positive rate during walking around indoors and outdoors.

I would say close to ZERO as the object has to be within about 6 inches of the pendant to trigger it.

Your assumption is that that sensor measures distance accurately. Which is not the case here. that infrared sensor is good at detecting changes, but the distance varies with environmental conditions.
