Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0
Preamble
The Open Database License (ODbL) is a license agreement intended to handle the use, modification, and sharing of databases. This license is designed to provide freedom to use, share, and modify the database while ensuring that the resulting works are similarly open.
1. Definitions
"Database" – A collection of works, data, or other materials arranged in a systematic or methodical way and individually accessible by electronic or other means.
"Contents" – The contents of the Database, including the data, information, or material stored in the Database.
"Use" – Includes both direct use of the Database and use of the Database through a user interface or application programming interface (API).
"Modify" – To make changes to the Database, including but not limited to adding, deleting, rearranging, or altering the data or structure of the Database.
"Share" – To provide access to the Database or its Contents to others, either by distributing copies or by making the Database accessible over a network or other means.
2. Rights Granted
You are free:
- To Use the Database for any purpose.
- To Share the Database, including by copying, publishing, and distributing it.
- To Modify the Database and create Derivative Works based upon it.
3. Conditions
If you Share the Database (including in modified form), the following conditions apply:
- You must attribute the original author(s) of the Database and provide a link to the original Database.
- If you redistribute the Database or Derivative Works, you must do so under the same license (ODbL v1.0).
4. Disclaimer
The Database is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the Database or the use or other dealings in the Database.
5. Termination
Your rights under this license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use, distribution, and modification of the Database.
6. Governing Law
This license shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside.
