Alt+D is a hotkey that highlights the address bar that works across different apps (there's also hitting F6).
While the hotkeys are editable, Alt+D could be added as additional default hotkey for highlighting the bar.
It's pretty widespread, and it's positioned on the left side of the keyboard, which can make it more convenient to hit.
(for example, it works the same way across Windows Explorer, Everything (search), and in other browsers (chrome, etc.) - it moves focus to the address bar. and having it on the left of keyboard can make it ergonomically better, compared to other hotkeys which might be more awkward to hit or reach.)
