The nar-maven-plugin is a Maven plugin to compile native components, i.e. platform-specific libraries compiled (at least partially) into machine code, such as C or C++ code. The name of the plugin refers to _N_ative _AR_chives (as opposed to pure _J_ava _AR_chives, so-called jar files).
