Description

Goal of the course is to give a high-level overview of problems in security of information systems. Participants will be introduced into:

  • theoretical models of access rights,
  • security of operating systems,
  • sandboxing (compartmentalisation),
  • security of browsers,
  • security of web applications,
  • pitfalls of network protocols,
  • denial of service attacks,
  • designing secure applications,
  • verification of correctness,
  • testing.

After the course, you should be able to find information sources related to your security problems.

Evaluation

  1. Presence on labs are mandatory with at most one absence.
  2. Presentation in relaxed PechaKucha format (up to 20 slides, 6:40 minutes, https://www.pechakucha.org/) + 2 homeworks.
  3. The course will be closed by a combination of written and oral exam.
