Can't set external editor to BBEdit

I have put the following in my conf.marco file, which I thought would set my external editor to BBEdit:

environment {
    textEditor "BBEdit"
}

However, when I edit a file, it opens in TextEdit. I keep BBEdit in a subfolder in the the /Applications/ folder, I don't know if this is causing an issue? Is there some other way of specifying the editor (e.g. app signature or path)? Thanks!
