Would be extremely useful.
Scenario: we often build an application jar and a dependency jar separately (sbt assemblyPackageDependency and sbt assembly). Because dependencies do not change often, we, per application, create one "base" image with the dependency jar (which is sometimes big) and another one with the application itself (which is much smaller and changes very often during development).
This allows us to iterate faster and to produce less artefacts.
