The current codebase is in English, with gettext placeholders, _(), but apart from that, no real internationalistation effort has been made, and we should fix this ASAP. Though all user-facing strings are wrapped we actually need to make sure gettext is properly set up to work with them, and commit the initial gettext catalogue to the project to allow translation contributions.
