I would like to second this request. This would be a very cool (in fact essential) feature. what makes barnard a strong tool IMHO is not necessarily (although very cool) simplistic terminal-based UI, but the scriptability as demonstrated in https://github.com/FAUSWE-GROUP11/Rokku/tree/master/src/raspberry_pi_intercom#install-barnard. specifying a default channel via parameter to enter upon login, as well as switching to specific channels via scriptable command would make barnard even more useful. also can I specify custom shortcuts for various commands? the latter, as an overarching meta-feature would actually solve this request, as users could simply specify a shortcut to switch to channel XYZ, which they could use in a script to be executed (via tmux) right after login.
