Open the FRLG save file

Every time I try to open a FRLG file it says to select a game.
For FR, just press the ok button, but for LG, I have to select LG and then press the ok button.

It would be great if the program could automatically determine the save data, but if it is not possible, would it be possible to change the button as shown in the image below?

If you choose one from two, I think it's easier to use than a pull-down menu.

The reason that prompt exists is because there are no distinct differences between FireRed and LeafGreen saves.

Automatically detecting it would require some loophole, like reading the savefile Trainer Name, TID and SID, and then checking the savefile for pokemon that match those values, and reading the Version value from the mon itself, which isn't foolproof, nor particularly efficient.

I understand why I have to choose, but is there any reason why it has to be a pull-down menu?
If you choose LG from the pull-down menu,
1, Open the pull-down menu
2, Choose Leaf Green
3,Press the OK button
These three steps are required.
Wouldn't it be more efficient to have a one-click solution?

It's easier not to change something that nobody else has had a problem with for years.
It's not confusing, and you should only have to pick it once when you load a save.
You're essentially complaining about 3 clicks.

Yes, I have complaints.
And essentially you're saying that as a developer it's a hassle to tackle this problem.

By the time PKHeX was released, gen3 users should have been in the minority.
It was therefore abandoned.
FR was favored and LF was disfavored only when opening saves.
If this problem was a gen9 problem, did you leave it alone?
If you wanted a choice between "scarlet" and "violet", did you go with the same design as FRLG?

No one has done a Japanese localization for gen3 so far, so I decided to do it myself.
No one has complained about the choice of "FR" and "LG" so far, so I voiced my dissatisfaction.
It's just that.
Discrimination exists because it is not an equal choice.
But gen3 users are a minority, so no one pays attention.
It's just that.

If you play "LG" now and try to use PKHeX 100 times, you'll be get frustration.
I'm looking at the problem from the user's point of view, and you, as a developer, are fine.
If you say no problem, do it 100 times and then say the same thing.

The way it works for any feature is:

1. The problem has to be big enough for someone to look at it. Problems that bother more people are more likely to have someone look at them.
2. Someone has to have time to do it. You already said you are not a developer. Someone who is a developer who cares about the problem has to invest their free time into the problem.

You asked why nobody has done it, and I gave you the answer. You can write as many words as you want, but that is the truth of how it works. I personally am not bothered. If you are bothered and don't know how to fix it, you either have to learn to change it or wait for someone who cares enough to do 1 and 2. The program is open source, so anyone can open a pull request to change the way it works.

And please, do not turn this into an argument saying "You aren't a user." I use PKHeX every single day. I have clicked through menus in gen 9 more than 100 times. That is a logical fallacy.

Of course, I understand that it takes time.

I'm not asking you to fix it in the next update.

But this is my place to showcase my ideas.
The reason I presented the idea was because it was a troublesome and bottleneck point in using it for me.

Why did you say "It's easier not to change something that nobody else has had a problem with for years."
To me, this sounded like saying that since no one has ever considered it a problem, it should be left alone.
It's easy to do nothing, but there was a point that I thought would be better to change, so I showed it as an idea.
I thought it would be better if it was one click no matter what I chose.

I don't know programming so I'm just giving suggestions.
I was just presenting some ideas that I think would be easier to use with these changes.

I mean, "If you're a LeafGreen user, you're going to be frustrated."
I'm wondering when was the last time you played LeafGreen and opened a save in PKHeX and how many times?
And have you ever made a mistake in choosing? I want to ask.

I have had that wrong experience.
I've had to re open multiple times recently.

That's why I'm proposing an idea.
And I want you to change it someday if you are convinced.

I am not going to address this anymore because all you are doing is writing an essay that is turning into an argument, and all you are doing is saying the same thing over and over. This is not the attitude if you want people to commit free time for your suggestions.

You've already made the suggestion and written about why you want it. Accusing me of being a dev, not a user, then saying I am not a Leaf Green player, then interrogating me about how many times I have loaded saves does not add anything new to this thread. It is just a weird attack on me for some reason.

The idea is there. If someone cares to change it, they can change it and make a pull request. If nobody cares to change it and you still want it, then you can go learn to program to change it yourself. That is how open-source projects work.

I gave a reason why other people have not changed it. (It requires someone to spend free time to change something that has not been widely considered a problem.)
I do not plan to work on it. You should not try to convince me to agree with you.
