Cancel hint

Hi,

First of all, thank you for this extension, I really like it and it's super useful. Having said that, there's an issue that really bothers me and I wanted to ask whether it would it be possible to implement a way to cancel the hint while in the middle of a selection?

Example:

1. press hint key (and keep it pressed)
2. type keys to select and make a mistake
3. press key to cancel (ex: escape)

Maybe this is something that can already be done but I couldn't find how? The only way that I can do it is keep pressing keys until no elements match, then release the hint key.

If you give me some directions I may try to implement it myself.
