As I work past each of the issues that I've been logging, I find myself constantly asking "ok. now what?"

I just don't know what i'm supposed to do, what i can do, what this thing is supposed to do for me, based on the UI.

I've been purposely avoiding reading the documentation in the readme or anywhere else, because i want to know what the typical user experience will be like, since most people don't read the docs.

so far, i'm confused.

the UI may become intuitive once i understand the feature set and purpose of the tool, but my initial experience (putting aside the bugs) is that this tool expects you to already know how to use the tool.

can we do something to create an in-app walk-through, tips, etc, on how to get started? not a video, not a blog post, not a document somewhere... but right there in the app... some tooltips that pop up to say "click here to add a project!" the very first time you open the boostrapper... a tooltip to say "now you can ..." once you have created a project, one to "now build the project, here", etc, etc, etc. to give me a complete walk-through of starting to use this tool and building my first project output, even if it's just the default empty files.

indeed. this is a great idea we can prioritize for the official RTM release in Q3. In the short-term, we could do a "dim screen" style welcome tutorial that explains the major regions and features for the first-time user, but I'll defer to @mishoo as it might be too late for that, at this point.

OT, @derickbailey but I believe I've resolved the blocking issues you had previously. Can you start from scratch and confirm that all is good, now?

the fixes you put in are looking good. i'm able to get things rolling much easier, and create a new project without any issues. will keep digging in, trying to figure out the feature set and reporting other issues i see.

Thanks man, and thanks for catching those start-up issues. The "point to your source" feature was a recent add, so I hadn't had a chance to test it on OSX yet. Better we find these now than in a couple of weeks. :D
