EmojiOne and Jekyll

I use Jekyll to generate my weblog. I would like to use EmojiOne in a way that would automatically recognise shortcodes or OS specific pasted emojis (in my case macOS) and replace them with EmojiOne ones. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks.
