linter freeze the nvim

I am using go test as a lint source. But I found if test takes too long to finish, the nvim will freeze. I am wondering why nvim froze.

My null source setup is here:

Also a video shows when go file open and null-ls started, the nvim instance will be frozen until test finished. Is there a setup to allow the linter runs asynchronously?

The async option looks promising. But seems it conflict with check_exit_code = function(code, stderr) option. Without check_exit_code, the linter works in an async way, with it, it still freezes the editor. Is there anything missing?

Also, I was wondering why the default setup for linter is not async = true, this might be one reason the more linters I added the slower null-ls looks to me ( compared to efm server)

I think the solution is to use:

      factory = h.generator_factory,
