Illegal character

Hello,

Running jupyter console --kernel mit-scheme returns the following error message:

;Illegal character: #\u
;To continue, call RESTART with an option number:
; (RESTART 1) => Return to read-eval-print level 1.

Do you know how to fix this problem? BTW, running scheme by itself from the command line is ok, the problem only appears when using the scheme-kernel within jupyter.
