I'm unsure if this is a bug with the device itself or with something related to Jellyfin.
When direct-playing a blu-ray rip of Red in 1080p with 5.1 audio, the player freezes (and usually crashes the device) at around the 9:40 timestamp. As far as I can tell, it's on the same frame every time. From looking at playback statistics in VLC, this doesn't seem to be a moment of particularly high bitrate: roughly 32Mbps vs a typical value of ~25Mbps. If I fast forward through the first crash, it will crash at later times as well.
ffmpeg -v error -i Red.mkv -f null - 2>~/red_error.log reports no errors with the file. The ffprobe is below.
This happens ONLY on the Onn 4k Pro (2024) - it direct-plays fine on my laptop using the webapp, my phone using the Android app, and my TV using the Roku app.
After changing all playback-related settings I could find, I figured out that disabling "downmix to stereo" in the app stops it from crashing.
I've included below the ffmpeg logs produced by a crash.
