Is it possible to check if only certain fields are valid? Multi-step form kind of way?

I am trying to create a multi-step form and wanted to know if I could check if only the fields in step 1 are valid so I can enable the next step button.. This is what I have so far..

Using !isValid on the disabled attribute checks the whole form, and because step 2 hasnt been filled out yet, the form is not valid at all.. How can I check only the fields in step 1?
