Hi, Very strange indeed that it works on one computer and not on another. I will investigate. |
Thanks, much appreciated! If there's anything I can do to assist please let me know. |
Hi, can you please try this updated version and let me know if it fixes the problem for you - https://www.dropbox.com/s/oflidbgun966e87/PicasaUpload%200.7.msi |
Thanks, I gave it a shot but unfortunately the same problem persists. I tried first installing it over the previous install, then uninstalling and trying a fresh install. Both installs were set to install for everyone, and installed to my C: directory. I also tried an install for "Just Me" but that didn't seem to change anything. |
Hi and sorry for not getting back to you faster (I have been extremely busy lately). This is indeed very odd and I am a bit confused as to what my cause this. Do you run the same antivirus/firewall (if you have installed third party such) on both? Could it be that the firewall is blocking the app on one of the machines? |
I have AVG Free anti-virus running on both machines. When I last tried uploading at the same time on both machines, both scanners were up-to-date, but it only worked on my laptop. I've disabled AVG, but the problem persists. I've also tried allowing PicasaUploder thru Windows Firewall (public and private) but that didn't work either. There's something interesting I saw between my laptop and desktop machines, though I'm not sure it will help in finding the problem or not. On Step 2, selecting the album, on my laptop the albums display sequentially, as though they are being shown as they are detected. On my desktop, they all appear at once. Thanks again for continuing to look into this, btw. And sorry about the "closed/reoppened" thing... I pressed "Close & comment" by accident, not knowing it would close the Issue thread (thought it meant close the comment window lol). |
Hello! I've been using PicasaUploader for a while now and love it, but on my newest computer I'm getting the same problem as Martin from the comments on your page: the "Add Files" button does not show.
Other problems I'm getting are the login information not saving even if the "Remember login information" checkbox is checked, and right-click > send to > PicasaWeb does not show any thumbnails in Step 3 (and no photos get uploaded). What's strange is it works fine on my Core 2 Duo laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, but I get the problems above with my Core i7 desktop with Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Short list of system specs just in case:
Laptop (works):
Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
Core 2 Duo P9500
4GB RAM
GeForce 9300M GS
Desktop (doesn't work):
Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
Core i7-2600K
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 560 Ti
Thanks!
