For IOS app i cleared the log and then started backup. there is no logs when it gets stuck at 100%.

Does the uploaded file not actually show up on the web UI? I've uploaded files much larger than 1GB, and I only ever connect through nginx. Typically, if a feature doesn't work through a reverse proxy, that is the fault of the proxy, not the app it is proxying. Proxys should generally be transparent to the backend app. Most of the issues you are reading end up being people using Cloudflare tunnels, which has an upload cap. For that reason we ask you to test without a proxy - if it works, that means the issue is with the proxy configuration, and it's not possible for Immich to plan/account for the wide range of proxy servers that exist.

Immich does not currently have a published roadmap, but #1674 is the feature request that tracks chunked uploading. Thank you for understanding.

I had the exact same issue. I thought it was due to an nginx reverse proxy im running. I double and triple checked that I had the correct configurations from the example https://immich.app/docs/administration/reverse-proxy/

It turns out the real issue I had was that I am using cloudflare for DNS, and I had enabled the proxying (orange cloud) option in the DNS dashboard. It turns out that means I am subject to their upload limits (I believe they have 100MB limit for free tier). I had to disable that cloudflare proxy (gray cloud), and then everything worked as expected. I'm definitely a noob in all this, but turning off the cloudflare proxy feels kinda bad. Not Immich's fault though, hope this might help someone else

@chriswnewman Absolute legend. Am running Caddy as reverse proxy and it doesn't have a size limitation. Was trying to figure out what could possibly be causing it to fail silently and you led me straight to the answer. Would be nice if Immich could support something like tus.io or similar to chunk large files into smaller packets and allow for larger file uploads to be resumable
