Next Button is not working in Chrome due to url issue

The 'Next' button in the text is not working properly in Chrome. It is appending the next page onto the URL instead of changing the url.
For example, clicking next on
https://iamswain25.github.io/political-life/en/0001
goes to
https://iamswain25.github.io/political-life/en/0001/0002

instead of
https://iamswain25.github.io/political-life/en/0002

what browser do you use? it doesn't happen to me.

Looks like it happens only on Brave. Others (chrome, firefox, opera, safari) are working fine.
