Dark mode and search bar doesn’t work in pro version when I commit the website to GitHub Pages.

Any solution ??? :-(

Hi whatashell,

  • How did you solve this issue? Looking at your website it seems that you have solved the issue because I can interact with the dark mode toggle & search bar perfectly.
  • Might this be a conflict in dependencies?

Specifically, I am using the contents in the “starter-kit-gh-pages”; and I also added the “#jekyll-theme-hydejack” folder to my root directory. The issue is:

I see the dark mode toggle & search bar locally when I run “bundle exec jekyll serve”, however, I don't see them anymore on the deployed site...therefore, I suspect this is an issue on production which might be due to incompatible dependencies between github pages & jekyll, etc, because I always get the following warning:

"build
The github-pages gem can't satisfy your Gemfile's dependencies. If you want to use a different Jekyll version or need additional dependencies, consider building Jekyll site with GitHub Actions: https://jekyllrb.com/docs/continuous-integration/github-actions/"

Any idea how to solve this?? https://annnhuang.github.io/
