The problem

When using the Energy dashboard in Home Assistant to calculate electricity consumption for a custom date range spanning three months (e.g., from 17.09.2024 to 19.11.2024), the results are incorrect. The system appears to include the entire month of September 2024 and November 2024 in the calculation, instead of starting / ending from the specified date (17.09.2024 -19.11.2024).

For date ranges spanning two months, calculations are accurate. However, when the range spans three months or more, the results are inflated because the system misinterprets the start and/or end of the custom date range.
