One subset of CAD use cases that Fornjot should support, is 2D CAD: creating 2-dimensional shapes, not only for the purpose of creating 3D shapes out of them, but for export to 2D file formats.

This would open up a wide array of use cases, like laser cutting, water jet cutting, engraving, 2D-only machining, etc.
