It would be nice, if...

  • ...coordinate systems were always right-handed.
  • ...the winding of exterior cycles was always counter-clockwise on the front of a face.

Unfortunately, both are not the case, and this needs to be handled in too many places.

Also unfortunately, this isn't easy to change in the current context of Fornjot. See these two comments for more information:

It would be great to come up with a solution for this, as that would simplify this aspect of Fornjot.
