Every time I contribute I forget how merging works with the docs. If I find an issue that exists in the whole 3.x.x line do I open on 3.0.x to get merged up? or 3.2.x to get merged down? or master? It seems like people often get confused on what branch to open PR's too that some help text could save a few back and forths.

Actually I opened a pull request to 3.0.x expecting to have the change propagated to 3.x but didn't happen. it doesn't appear in the official docs
