Timeframe visual selection is dropped on data refresh

Brief summary

When I hover over a panel, and select a timeframe by dragging over the graph, if the data refresh happens, the currently dragged selection is reset and lost.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Drag a selection over a panel, and keep the mouse down until the data refresh (at least 10s).refreshes (at least 10 seconds

Expected behaviour

The selection shouldn't be affected by the data refresh? 🤞🏻

Actual behaviour

The selection goes away 😞
