Hello,
Finally I finished MVP of file transfer from GoPro to Mobile App here is the repo.

Next steps are

• real time streaming of go pro video to mobile
• getting metadata from files (mostly interested in location)

I plan to start with getting metadata from files.
Go pro cameras has enable GPS option, so I assume once user enable GPS all photos/videos taken from go pro will attach metada to each file.

In fact we can get metadata with GoPro API

In this demo project when I fetch files from go pro over wifi I get or if you follow official tutorial you will get this response from getting media list

My question is

How can I get metadata information like location (lat, lng)?

After reading docs and python code I tried this url "http://10.5.5.9:8080/gopro/media/info?path=100GOPRO/{fileName}

But there is no info about geolocation (lat, lng).
Is it possible to get location of photo, video at all?
If yes is it available through gopro api?

Hi, use the t = exif param (as seen here: https://github.com/KonradIT/gopro-py-api/blob/master/goprocam/GoProCamera.py#L1181) for photos. This will be in JSON format.

For video, use the gopro/media/gpmf?path= call, which will return a GPMF data binary.

Thank you @KonradIT for your hint.

While it's giving metadata but I still can't get lat, lng.
Probably I will open another discussion on how to get goelocation of photo, video.
