Clasp project dead ?

Hi everybody !

It seems CLASP project is somewhat dead, no commit and no PR merged for almost a year... It smells ...

Does anyone has an insight about the project status / roadmap ?

Unfortunately I believe the project is dead, and that there is no roadmap

Oh no! Bad news if this is indeed what's happening. Has there been any official word from Google about this?

Not dead, but not actively being worked on either. There's a little bit of working going on to update privacy policy and terms of service for the oauth client to conform with updated policies, but other than that there's no planned work in the near future.

Any future work is likely to be focused on simplifying clasp. Mostly I'm looking to remove the built-in typescript support as that's better left to external builds. That and bug fixes/minor usability improvements.

@sqrrrl is there any other recommended way to develop for G-Suite (Gmail in particular), which replaces CLASP?
