cloning the Silences repository

Hi,
I want to use this solution for managing alert-manager silences.
The documentation is very light and unclear.
What values should I give for the sync.repository and sync.github.token?
Should I create my own repository? what should be the repository content? how should it be organized?

If there is someone that can help me understand how to use this repository it will be much appreciated.
