Import pre-existing ontologies #13
-
Discussion started by avaccariello Dec 5 (on GV Discord server) I am trying to model a new ontology called CPM using Ontome. CPM uses many of the CIDOC-CRM (base and extensions) classes and properties and adds many more. I was trying to import those directly from the pre-existing ontologies but can't. If I am not mistaken, it cannot be done unless I was a member of the project I'd like to import/use. Am I right? Is there any other way to work it? |

When you want to create a new model based on the CIDOC CRM, you don't need to "import" the CRM but simply indicate that you are going to use it as a reference namespace ("Identification" tab of your ongoing namespace). You can then use all the CRM classes/properties in the relationships with the entities you are going to create (hierarchical relationships, properties, etc.). |
