Some situations would benefit from having the "Run cell" play button still accessible and visible even when the code is hidden, is my opinion.

E.g. Demonstrating different randomness effects in a plot on each rerun where the plotting code is hidden.

You can create your own "Run cell" button for this use case with a binded button where the variable is used in the invisible cell.

That is definitely a more generically applicable example which covers the context I've brought up, thank you, I forgot about buttons.

I guess the only remaining point I have is that for simple hidden code reruns, the built in rerun button is already there, I don't think the user should do the extra work to make a new button for simple scenarios.

Personally I'm in no rush for this change, I've just come across a few times thinking it would be nice for the rerun button to remain visible. And it would be nice for me to not need to code a button that already exists but wqs just hidden.

But if the devs disagree, feel free to close this.
