Is the level placeholder from an Alarm the measurement before the filter has been applied?

I have this memory check in place and I use the level placeholder in my action but I get notified for values below the alarm level (e.g. 65%).

That's odd. I tested it locally and it looks fine. There was a bug where the filter config was loaded from the [[checks]] section instead of the [[checks.alarms]] that I just fixed in 5b8edb3 but that doesn't explain the problem.
Can you send a debug log, that should help to find the problem.

I was just saying that there should maybe be another debug log message that prints the input to the filter so it's easier to track a log file and see what happend. But I'm not sure if this helps. I still don't understand why it would trigger without exceeding the threshold; I couldn't reproduce that so far.

Sorry, I missed your first answer.

It is not happening today. It might be triggered by the early measurements when there are not enough values as required by the filter. I'll enable debug logs and try to reproduce it.

The ring buffer builds up from 0 to it's configured length so the early values are not "averaged down" by pre-initialized 0 values. It makes the filter a bit more flaky until it stabilized though, that's the other side of the coin.
