Have a spec like this:
%global baserelease 1 Name: reproducer Version: 1 Release: 0.%{baserelease}%{?dist} Summary: ... License: MIT BuildArch: noarch %description ... %prep %build %install %files %changelog ...
Run rpmautospec convert on it. The result is:
rpmautospec convert
-Release: 0.%{baserelease}%{?dist} +Release: %autorelease

-%global baserelease 1 +%global baserelease %{autorelease -n}
