Describe the problem you'd like to solve
I need to do more research into this problem area, but it is my understanding that journalists rarely draw on academia / ask academics for input and advice when they are writing articles. Furthermore, academics feedback is not necessarily taken into account by the journalists, and they are often not given any credit for their input.
As a journalist,
I want access to a network of academics who are willing to engage in a discussion around their field of specialism
So that I can help me write a better article with more accurate and in-depth insights
As an academic
I want to make myself available to journalists who are seeking advice for their articles
So that I can increase the impact of my research
As an academic,
I want to see reviews of journalists, how much they take into account feedback from academics and whether or not they give credit properly
So that I can ensure I don't waste my time and only speak to journalists who will incorporate my feedback
Who are the stakeholders?
Journalists, academics, and anyone that reads the news :)
