What Happened?

So I've been experimenting with page color extraction in webkit, and noticed that elementary.io has rather strange theme-color - to the point that sampiing the top of the page seems to work better.

See https://neurodifferent.me/@alexm/109601890615607649 for details, no point in reiterating it all here.

So, on the following screenshots, the 3 color buttons in the toolbar are: theme color, under page background color and sampled top color respectively.

The results:

theme-color here is blue even though the page header is white. And same thing on the support page.

theme-color here is the same blue even though the header is purple. Sampled color is spot on here, but since theme-color is set, that's the one that will be used.

This one doesn't have blue - however, it looks like it probably should be white as well.

It is blue, but a different shade than the header.

And finally, on the blog it matches.
