Publish 1.7 for apt

When installing using apt-get install kafkacat, the latest version is 1.6.0. Confirmed on ubuntu packages. Nothing shows up under kcat here.

Is it possible to have the latest version published so that apt-get can pull it?

As far as I can see, although the project is not completely abandoned (as was asked in the issue #424), the owner (@edenhill) rarely looks here.

The last commit was in November, so I'm afraid it's going to be a very long story.

As a temporary workaround, you can pull the latest sources (1.8.0 in the master, I hope it is stable enough), build the binaries and the deb package yourself, and publish the package to your local apt repository.
