Describe the Enhancement

The Taylor diagram was initially developed to be used by METviewer and to be used via the command line. However, users cannot readily filter their input data (e.g. by time period) in the METplotpy yaml configuration file. This functionality is provided by METviewer via a database query (as specified in the users XML specification file).
