Suggest name for the movement #1
Comments
My suggestion is: Flip the World or Mirror the World. Why? The goal of the movement is to improve the user experience of RTL languages speakers, and that can be achieved by pushing developers and helping them to add bidirectional text support to their projects/products at least since we prioritize text appearance over text alignment and layout (we need a readable, non-broken text). This is the minimal and the laziest way to do that. When you tell a web developer (for example) to add RTL support to his/her website, the first thing that will come to his/her mind is flipping/mirroring the whole layout. This is a common misconception and most developers don't know that. I strongly believe that the words flip and mirror are very descriptive and attractive to developers when it's about RTL languages, and this is due to that misconception, and also the way these languages are written (right to left) which is in the opposite direction of the others (left to right). The point is we can take benefit of these 2 words in this context. Also, as this movement is supposed to take a global scale, the word world can cover that. By combining them we get: Flip the World/Mirror the World, which is a motivational, friendly, and fun name for a movement. |
I myself propose names which include "bidi" especially if we use bidi as a verb! Something like:
|
We think if we come and work together, we can make more impact. What name do you suggest for this movement?
Please keep it in mind to just suggest name and maybe include some short description. DO NOT COMMENT on others' suggestion. This way we everybody feels more comfortable to think and express aloud.
