This issue is continued from issue #274, we are awaiting feedback from the community to figure out how to suppress output when reading passwords from emulated terminals in windows.

@groenborg can you follow up on this Wednesday morning? Did anyone respond... please lets summarize up what was answered and if it made sense.

I have received no response on my issues created on the packages I use for silent read when prompting for passwords. Neither on the gopher slack channel or any of the issues.
So I have no real idea how to solve this issue without spending an enormous amount of time.

We can choose another option to solve this problem in stead

  • If the we are reading the password from an emulator we can prompt the user with a warning, telling them that we cannot hide the password. This however requires we can figure out what terminal we are in!

cool, seems like we can do it... we will need to test it though.

Will save the implementation until we have a result of #281

Should we remove git bash from the compatibility matrix until we support it?
