From the disassembly, that sure is a lot of halts. MartyPC only halts in an error state if the interrupt flag is disabled, since an interrupt is the only thing that can resume from halt.

Need to investigate.

After a bit of research, it would seem DUEL requires simulation of floppy drive access timings - it is not happy with a virtual floppy that seeks/reads instantly. I anticipated there would be some titles that used this method for copy protection.
