Seemed to still be in lesson, not exactly progress but submitted a PR just to remove that text from the lesson for now.

Has anyone reached out to them to request use of images, they do look pretty good?

Just read the book - it's amazing. Def worth reaching out for some materials. I plan to talk about some in our upcoming workshop.
