In the current draft version (v7), most examples are converted from X.509 encoded certificates and CSRs are present. Please also add more native examples, especially for the special cases (e.g. with one extension key usage). Such examples help the developers to implement their own libraries, and also help normal users to understand the text.

Or is it better to have a (github) repository containing the test vectors?

That is a very good idea. We definitly need test vectors.
