With feature code ss06 off (that is, not using "simple a"), the "simple a" form shows up in the italics. Is it possible to have the italics use the non-simple a? I guess there could be similar concerns for the g variant (feature code ss01) and perhaps others. Thanks.

Hi! Yes, I suppose some of the ss- options aren't working properly in the Italic. Italics are 'supposed' to have single storey designs for 'a' and 'g', so perhaps the relevant ss- options should invert their meaning, so that double storey 'a' and 'g' can be displayed with ss- turned on... It might happen... 😀
