Introduce non-integration example tests

Many of the example tests don't need us to bootstrap entire Mill processes to run, and are just example tests so we can easily include them in documentation.

We should have some way of marking these as unit tests to minimize their dependencies and improve the precision of selective execution in Mill's CI
