I suggest extending the API to control the Mk 49 GMLS, which is a proven system in service for the past decade. It supports connection via bluetooth, and also via a proprietary iPhone app once you authorize it with your Facebook account.
I total agree. I'll file this issue along with the suggestion to wire up Retaliation with an X11 home automation relay connecting mains power up to the office door handle. The idea is that no developer can leave until the broken code is fixed without risking death :-)
