A few days ago, @sassypocoyo, @EnzoVieira, and I discussed ideas we could implement to improve map overview, markers cluttering, and submitting new images. We came up with:

• instead of having the images pop up in the middle of the map, turn them into sidebars, like with Google Maps;
• leaderboards (by country, by biggest distance, etc.);
• having a sidebar with a list of all current markers;
• (double?) clicking a country and showing all its entries;
• submitting new markers, not through GitHub PRs, but an account-based system? (while also avoiding bots and malicious people);
• each marker could also have a Google Maps kind-of description, with all of the essential information and a message the user could write if wanted;
• if the markers are cluttered or located in the same city, turn them into one, and only show the correct number of markers when zooming in.

They all seem great ideas! 👏

I think the most challenging one is the ability to submit new markers through some sort of interface, I started a new discussion #26 just for this topic.

Let me contribute with another suggestion, the ability to submit more than one picture 💡
