this installation guide fails from the off since "sudo apt install mysql-server" returns "Package 'mysql-server' has no installation candidate". apparently the package has been replaced my mariadb in the Linux repository and im now left trying to work out how to add the correct repository to apt-get in order to install mysql-server as i do not want to install mariadb, i want to install the exact same mysql-server as i have on another machine
Hi @jjdnd, do you know what version of Ubuntu you are currently running, and if you have installed any third-party repositories? Also, would you be able to share the output of apt show mysql
from your system? Thanks!
