We're looking at putting together a list of OSS projects that we would
recommend as mature and well maintained based on the criteria template, a
bit like a trusted sources list to help newcomers get started with OSS.
It doesn't necessarily need to already be used in the GC yet but could be a
discussion starting point for departments.
Regarding tailoring the questionnaire, totally makes sense 😀

It might be worth tailoring the questionnaire based on the technology type.
What specifically were you looking for from a peer review perspective?

I would like this effort to also help socialize the open resources
exchange.
Our high level reference architecture documents, these assessments and the
ORE together could help mature the knowledge of OSS in the government.

Just to record my inputs from the meeting, I'm cautious about trying to customize it too much because the categories are so broad. The mobile question seems silly for PostgreSQL, but is very relevant to sqlite, for example. As pointed out in #113 though, it would be nice to have a 'not applicable' type of answer. |
