Add an in situ glossary to provide definitions for campaign finance terms #213
Comments
https://www.foia.gov/ has a good example. It uses the 18F glossary that depends on jquery, but that's okay for now. I particularly like how the glossary terms are defined in markdown, since they are content and should be easy for copy editors to tweak and edit. |
@jenny-heath Here's a start: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tZpNzsKY_CQO4R52MoWAlGtbyufl_2eQ2yN8L3szg1Q/edit?usp=sharing This is a CA Civic Lab glossary that I worked on in 2016. It still needs work, but it can get you started. |
FYI there is also this glossary which is an older version than the
google doc

Hello thread, @jenny-heath sorry for stealing/hogging the ball on this issue. It was my mistake to work on it but not update issue weeks back. The glossary is currently a WIP and there is plenty to do! Three new issues have been born from this original glossary task. Looking forward to knocking those out in the future as a team ;) |
Proposed mock-ups for #290 are here: https://invis.io/M3PL9PAY8XP |
Something like the 18F glossary where terms can be highlighted in situ. When clicking the terms, the glossary flies out to show the definition.
